Room mappings

The Room Type Manager Room mappings panel contains controls used to set up building types qualified by the ASHRAE 90.1 and ASHRAE 62.1 standards with default room types. When room types are mapped to building types for an ASHRAE standard, their default properties (constructions, thermal properties, gains, etc) are initiated for rooms that are modeled for that building type. OpenBuildings Station Designer provides, by default a full set of building to room type mappings covering each of the ASHRAE standards supported. Similarly, a building type can also be tagged to Part L calculations. The room mapping data defined here is used for prescriptive calculations which determine if the proposed building complies with the lighting (Space-by-Space Method of calculating interior lighting power allowances) and ventilation requirements specified by ASHRAE 90.1 and ASHRAE 62.1.

Note: Room mapping data on subsequently created rooms of the selected room type can be edited individually using the corresponding room mapping controls found under the Properties For: Room dialog box’s Design data (Steady-State Calculations) heading.
